Wow. Needed a place open for thanksgiving and bumped into this place. Ordered off the brunch menu and was so glad I did. Everything was incredible. The pulled pork crepe was awesome. Started with a spinach and beet salad which was great, too. The prices are great.

The service was probably the worst I've seen in St. Petersburg. The manager try to chase us away without even asking us what we wanted. He was surprised when we said we wanted to order drinks. The bartender looked like she was having a bad night. When ask for directions to the restroom it was as if I was asking for her firstborn child. With so many other restaurants two or three steps away, I would look for almost anything else.

They just added a gastro lounge and this place gives exactly what it aims for. Delicious food (had the dill chicken wrap late one night dt and the meatball flat bread one day for lunch + bacon wrapped shrimp, so good!!) for a good price and sometimes there is live music. Seating is nice as you're nestled in a bunch of greenery plus they have a full liquor bar. My friends ordered the hummus and even though it's made in house it was particularly bland, needed more salt, tahini, and olive oil. I'll be back for sure.

I love Del Mar! I come here daily after work because of the amazing, friendly service! Not to mention the great happy hour deals until 7pm and food better than any on the block!

Love this spot on Central! Great food - friendly staff that can get way busy when you least expect it... Be patient and enjoy the vibe!

Better than your average St Pete nosh. Came after work on a Wednesday and it wasnt busy or crowded, I wouldnt try it late or on busy weekends. Ordered chicken red curry and was surprised to find out it was a soup, but very salty. It only took 13 minutes from ordering to food delivery. Mac N Cheese was better than most, but Im a cheese snob and thought it had a bit too much of a certain cheese, maybe sometjing smokey. Anyway, veggie flatbread was good just needed more veggies. Ribs werent bad, also a bit salty, but for barfood, better than average. For dinner, just a bit better than most of the marginal restaurants around here.

I went on vacation and stumbled into this place because they offered Vegan selections. The juice is awesome, the outside seating is really nice, and the band they had on the weekend was also really entertaining. The wraps are yummy and I especially enjoyed the veggie empanada. If you're looking for a fun, casual, and reasonably priced place to grab a bite and a drink (there's a bar next door), I highly recommend Cafe del Mar.

I eat out about twice a day and visit lots of different locations. I must say this is one of the worst restaurants I've been to in a long time. From the awful delayed service to the awful execution on their dishes. Would not go back. Would not recommend!

45 minutes for a shrimp appetizer... It was good, but not with the wait. The server was nice, but running the whole place. Memosas are $3 on the weekends and were ok. Not the best, but not bad either.

Danielle is super awesome! The Mediterranean flat bread is amazing. The hummus squared was SO SO GOOD! & great drinks! Who would have thought cider and oatmeal stout mixed together go well!? Seriously...try this place! :)

The food here was ok, we only had the MAC n cheese and the meatballs on fire. They were good but the MAC n cheese had a lot of oil in them. Too bad cause it was almost perfection. It did taste amazing but the oil was a bit of a turn off. The meatballs were also really good but they were no where near on fire. Should rename them or at least offer a dipping sauce that would light your ass up. The really peculiar thing was that this place is called a cafe' but they have no clue how to make coffee. We got 2 white mochas to go and I'm not even sure it was really coffee. We watched the girl fumble through making them and for the life of me can not figure out how they were luke warm. I ended up taking a few sips then tossing it out. This place could be awesome but it failed. On a side note the drinks were 10+ and the staff was super nice.

Went there before a Rowdies game with several couples and kids. We got there around 5:45, which should be plenty of time for a 7:30 kickoff just a few blocks away, especially since there were very few people there before us. Not the case. At 7:20, about half of us received our meals. The others never came before we had to leave. Drink refills were requested for about an hour and never came. We had to leave and tried to pay only for the food we had received and were carrying to eat while walking to the game, but they tried to force us to pay for the food that was yet to be served..... even threatened to call the police if we didn't. Sever was awful and some of our food was given to another table. They said there was no manager there to help resolve everything. No exaggerating when saying it was one of the worst experiences ever. Had to buy my son food at the stadium because his pork wrap never made it to the table. Terrible.

They have Zacapa rum...bacon wrapped dates are great. Crystal, our bartender, has been wonderful. Nice find on a Monday night.

They have great lunch specials and happy hour specials and cool atmosphere and music. The service has also been attentive and friendly. We usually go when Crystal is working! Best empanadas in town!

The food was good a little oily but not bad. However, I was very disappointed in the coffee. The girl behind the counter didn't even know how to make it and had to go ask three other staff members. I waited hoping for the best but got the worst coffee ever. It was luke warm and bitter which is amazing how that happened since they use an espresso machine. If you want descent food try it but skip the coffee.

This is just a simple Gastro Pub and certainly not Mexican! The food is made fresh and delicious. We had the Cuban Flatbread. It had pulled pork that was moist and generous in portion, with Carmelized onions, pickles and a cheesy sauce. It is a drizzly, gray day so the food really hit the spot. The menu has a real eclectic quality to it from meatball sliders, to sloppy joe empanadas and flatbreads. I intend to come back and try their lobster pie next time. With so many places around, they are keeping up with the best in the area. Seating inside is limited but outside under sheltered canopies was fine even in rain.

Great food at reasonable prices. Husband loves the lobster pot pie for only $9! Service is better at the bar (ask for Richard). Overall really happy with the place...friendly people, yummy food, and live music.

I was longboarding through this part of the city and needed to find a place to get a double espresso, sugar, and a couple drips o milk. Makes it taste like a strong liquid version of See's Candy Coffee, but more on the strong Coffee! At first I missed the entry because the sign said coffee and wraps and treats etc... but when I almost went in, it was a bar?! ?! ?! Yes, those punctuations were a substitute for my double takes... you like? okay feel free to use them as well. So I had to back track and noticed that there were 2 signs of Café del Mar... wow, double bonus Jeopardy! Alex Trebec would of been keenly smug on this one. So to sum it up, they also had smoothies here as well. I created a Yelp business for them since they didn't exist and I thought, the city should know of what goes on within. This is a one stop shop for beverages and you can get healthy snacks as well, I'm in. 3 stars since I didn't get to try anything else. Will be back though, so we'll see how they fare in the long run.

I can only speak to the bar side of this place, since I haven't yet tried any of the food items. Jamie has been bartending and managing bars in St. Pete for over 15 years. I am pretty sure that he served me my first legal drink when I was 21 at Extra Innings. Karyn (sp?) made a friend of mine a drink with St Germain in it that she now orders at a lot of different places. If you want to sit outside they have quite a few tables. It is fun place to enjoy some drinks and people watch. I will have to update this review once I try the food.

Worst service ever! They left us at the table for over 10 min, walked by three times asked us to find a lost tab as still didn't greet us. We had to ask at the bar to get service three times. The drinks were horrible and very week and the waiter we finally got was terribly negative.

  • Chip T.

Worst service EVER!! had to flag down someone to help us even after the manager finally took our drink order. When the female server finally came over she did nothing but complain about being understaffed and then complained to other servers about us. When our orders came out, mine was incorrect. A coincidence, I think not!! The manager did comp our lunch as a result of a horrible first impression.

Hummus was ok, slightly bland but not terrible. Mac and cheese was tasteless and drowning in oil. Empanada was a bit soggy. Soda was flat, and the waitress was unfriendly. Nice location and live music which was decent. There are better places in St. Pete, save your money.

Man. When you describe your restaurant as a Gastropub usually it means the food is on the level of British Royalty eats. This food is so bad that I don't think British ex convicts (Sometimes called Australians) would find this edible and they're drunk 75% of the time. This place is the epitome of another terrible, mediocre restaurant with overpriced microwaveables that they consider "Food" that they charge top dollar. I had the pulled pork sandwich today and jesus fucking christ... I couldn't serve that shit to a homeless man and feel good about it. It tasted like someone discovered how to microwave yellow rice and sell it back to me at 200% the markup. After eating all of my pork sandwich (which I ate because I was hungry and not homeless or australian), I actually felt ill and had a very upset stomach. Despite the fact that the service is very good, that will never make up for shitty food. shitty food is shitty food the same way you can't "turn a hoe into a house wife"(Ludacris, Back for The First Time, 2015). I would feel better about the place if they dropped the term "Gastropub" and just changed the name to Cafe Del Taco Bell. Then I would give them 3 stars because if this was fast food, it would be almost comparable to Taco Bell. In terms of the decor... All the red and weird wrought iron really makes the place look more like a german sex dungeon than it does a restaurant... This place is really bad. Like, really, really really bad.

Nice little spot in downtown st. Pete. The food and service was pretty good. We ordered the bacon and ranch Flatbread and a couple cocktails. We would definitely be back. Our only downfall was parking in that area. We drove around for a while looking for parking, and almost gave up.

Walked in on Christmas day because they seemed to be the only place open for aAn afternoon bite and a drink. The place was busy but didn't seem to have much in the way of staff. Our drinks were secured directly from the bar. After that however, it all went downhill. We seated ourselves just outside the bar at a dirty 2 top. The wait staff I saw passed by us at least half a dozen times without any form of acknowledgement while delivering food and taking orders from other tables. There was even a table of 6 who seated themselves and was served food in short order well after we had arrived. Thank goodness we weren't starving to death or we may have wasted away while hoping for wait staff to arrive. Needless to say, don't think we'll be re-visiting anytime soon.

Unexpected awesome brunch! Super affordable, good options. $3 mimosas and $4 bloodys. Nice new piece by BASK in the wall during recent renovations. Local beer on draft (add Pair O' Dice Brewing!). Danielle is awesome, ask for her if possible.

Went there for lunch with my husband and my parents. We had our two dogs with us. We chose this place, because it has huge covers outside to protect us from the sun. Our server was very sweet and attentive. Our food came out tasting very good. I was surprised about how big the sandwiches and wraps were. The sides were tasty, but small. Potato salad is to die for. My husband ordered the pulled pork wrap and I ordered chicken pesto panini. We shared, so I got to taste both. I can't decide which one was better. Fresh and delicious. My parent loved theirs as well. Our bill was pretty low, despite all of us ordering drinks with our lunch. Can't beat the happy hour prices. I love the new mural and paintings inside as well. We will definitely return in the near future.

This place is pretty cool when it's the middle of the day. I can't attest to their night time situation. The bathroom decor is fun. There's indoor, outdoor, and bar seating. Their drink prices are pretty reasonable. I had their lobster mac and cheese and REALLY liked it. I just wish there was more of it. Their bbq chicken flatbread was not great as it was quite dry. Service-wise, I felt like our bartender was attentive thought not overly friendly. The server was cool too.

Was there last night with a good friend of mine! I told her the food was excellent and she wanted to check it out. I had the Flatbread Caprese which was phenomenal. Not only did it taste amazing but the plate presentation was beautiful! My friend had the fish ceviche and asked not to have any extra garlic and it came just as she would expect. She had no leftovers. The bartender made a great Rasberry Martini for me. The chef waited on us and was very attentive in bringing the food out as well as checking to see if we needed anything else. Will definately go back to try some of the other dishes. The menu has lots of good food.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
